From the East into the West – Shantalla

Folkband Shantalla ontstond in 1999 België, maar vijf leden zijn Iers en zangeres Helen Flaherty is Schots. De titel van hun show is ook de titel van hun nieuwste cd: From the East into the West, met daarop traditionele en moderne nummers uit Ierland, Schotland en andere Europese landen. Als onderdeel van de Ierse en Schotse diaspora is Shantalla zich bewust van hun roots en tradities. Ze beschouwen het als deel van hun missie om hun cultuur zo breed mogelijk te promoten.
